DfE Teacher Training Application Update: What You Need to Know

If you’re applying to train to teach in 2025, a new feature on the Department for Education (DfE) website could help you connect directly with providers like e-Qualitas.

What’s Changing?

From May 2025, you’ll have the option to share your application details with training providers when you use the DfE Apply service. If you opt in, providers can review your information and, if they think you’re a good match, invite you to apply directly to their courses.

You can also choose which locations you’d like to appear in, so you’ll only be contacted about relevant opportunities. This is an additional route—it doesn’t replace the main application process. You can still choose your own courses and submit up to four applications at a time.

If you respond to a provider’s invitation and apply, that will count as one of your four choices.

Why Apply with e-Qualitas?

At e-Qualitas, we partner with schools to deliver a rigorous, purposely sequenced teacher training programme that is unapologetically ambitious in its aim to transform the future of every child. Led by expert subject leads and committed tutors, the eQ curriculum equips you to face the challenges of the classroom from day one.

We offer school-based teacher training in:

Whether you apply directly through the DfE website or respond to an invitation from us, you’ll join a programme designed to build confidence, deepen subject knowledge, and prepare you to shape the future of education.

Tips for Applicants

Share your application details – Opt in on the DfE website so providers like e-Qualitas can invite you to apply to relevant courses.
Be strategic – You can still apply to four courses at once, so consider a mix of direct applications and invitations.
Check your dashboard – Manage your preferences, respond to invites, and stay in control of your application.
Apply early – Courses fill up fast. Starting early improves your chances of securing a place.
