Train to Teach History
Transformative Practice
Subject specificity is at the core of our programme: great history teaching is about helping students develop critical thinking, understand historical context, and engage with the world through an informed perspective.
Our history teacher training programme prepares you to teach history in secondary schools with clarity and confidence. You’ll approach the curriculum through a history-specific lens, equipping students with the tools to understand key historical events and their ongoing impact on society.
Shaping Informed, Critical Thinkers
Your training will be led by Dr. Stephanie Burke, Humanities Subject Lead at Equalitas.
With extensive experience in both teaching and training, Dr. Burke ensures that trainees develop the skills to teach history in a way that fosters curiosity, critical analysis, and a deep understanding of the past’s relevance to contemporary society.
“History teaching helps students understand how the past shapes the world we live in today. Effective history teaching empowers young people to think critically, challenge assumptions, and engage with the world from an informed perspective.
