Train to Teach in Secondary Education
Transformative Practice
Subject Specificity is at the heart of our curriculum. Our secondary teacher training programme equips you with the knowledge and skills to teach your subject with confidence. You will approach the curriculum through a subject-specific lens, preparing you to engage students and inspire learning.
The School Direct and Teaching Apprenticeship routes combine school-based experience with expert-led training, helping you develop the practical and theoretical knowledge to transform learning for the students you teach. Our training will support you to become a critically reflective teacher who is confident in their planning and teaching decisions to improve and transform the outcomes of the pupils they teach.
Transforming Futures Through Secondary Education
When you train with Equalitas, you join a community that believes in the power of subject knowledge to inspire and transform student learning. Whatever secondary subject you train to teach, our programme combines rigorous training and practical experience, to ensure that you are innovative, adaptable and ready to make a real difference in the classroom and in your students’ lives beyond the classroom.
Our subject-specific training curriculum will develop your substantive and disciplinary knowledge whilst developing your critical reading and reflection skills to make confident decisions about planning, teaching and assessment.
"The Equalitas programme is structured around subject and phase communities, led by subject and phase leads. All programme staff are passionate subject experts, they contribute within their field and have forged strong links to their subject and relative associations."
